Robert Walker is an Honorary Professor at Oxford University, Honorary Fellow of Green Templeton College, Oxford University, and Joan Shorenstein Fellow at Harvard University for 2021/2022. He joined Beijing Normal University in 2018 and was selected for China's "Foreign High-end Talent "program. In addition, he is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and the Academy of Social Sciences. In 2012, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II for his contribution to social policy research.
His research interests are extremely broad, with a focus in recent years on global governance and sustainable development. He has made important contributions to the literature and theoretical development of the fields of policy analysis and evaluation, poverty analysis, social security, welfare and working life, child studies and empirical research methods.
He has published 22 books, 55 independent research reports, 95 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and over 100 chapters in edited collections. He is also a regular columnist for China Today and China Focus, and occasionally contributes to China Daily. His latest book, Poverty and the World Order, was published in 2023. China in the World will be published this year. Is China Right? The Welfare Impacts of Western Hegemony is also forthcoming.
罗伯特・沃克是牛津大学荣誉教授、牛津大学格林坦普顿学院荣誉研究员，并曾担任 2021-2022 学年哈佛大学琼・肖伦斯坦研究员。他于 2018 年加入北京师范大学，入选中国 “外国高端人才” 项目；此外，他还是英国皇家艺术学会会士与英国社会科学院院士。2012 年，因其在社会政策研究领域的贡献，他被英国女王伊丽莎白二世授予大英帝国勋章。
他的研究兴趣极为广泛，近年重点关注全球治理与可持续发展领域，在政策分析与评估、贫困分析、社会保障、福利与工作生活、儿童研究及实证研究方法等领域的文献积累与理论发展中作出了重要贡献。
他已出版 22 部著作，发表 55 份独立研究报告、95 篇同行评审期刊论文，以及 100 余篇论文集章节；同时担任《今日中国》（China Today）与《中国聚焦》（China Focus）的常驻专栏作家，偶尔为《中国日报》（China Daily）供稿。他的最新著作《贫困与世界秩序》（Poverty and the World Order）于 2023 年出版，《世界中的中国》（China in the World）即将出版，另有著作《中国是对的吗？西方霸权的福利影响》（Is China Right? The Welfare Impacts of Western Hegemony）即将问世。
